The SOS Children Community Center (SOS—“Save Our Sons”) was founded by Chicagoland pastor and activist Pastor Melvin Flowers to provide young people with a safe, supportive place to grow. SOS offers recreation, academic enrichment, youth development, and career education that helps students build confidence and plan for the future. On March 22, 2026 the SOS Community Center will be hosting a banquet at the Double Tree Hotel in Alsip, Illinois. The banquet fundraiser supports the expansion of SOS and the building of a new center in Harvey, Illinois. During the evening, we will award four scholarships to students continuing their education at postsecondary institutions. We also will be honoring Pastor Melvin Flowers on 17 years of ministry!
